Kindness Workshop: Email for Details
Kindness is the first original instruction on how we should be as humans.
Sweetgrass represents kindness, and my role as an Anishinaabe Bear Clan person is to help all people have healthy relations and healthy lives.
When we go about our days with the intent to help those around us to be the best they can be, we are fulfilling this responsibility of kindness.
I've been fortunate to learn from and share activities with some of the kindest people across Ontario, and if more people were like this, our world would be a much different place.
One of my hopes in venturing out to do this work in the world is to deliver Kindness Workshops as professional development and team building.
It is so much more complex than it sounds and it's a session filled with oxytocin release that makes everyone feel connected and full of joy.
Kindness Sweetgrass Flip Activity
This is a free resource I created, and share for anyone who wants to spread kindness. There are many ways to use it. Be creative. Essentially, it was designed for the backside (with a square) to be placed upright on a table. Participants select a few cards that someone has said about them, or that they think they are (and don't peak). Return to the group and flip the card (i.e. flip from the negative to the positive) and share, "some people say that I am _____(insert word in square), but really I am _____(insert word on flip side)". Print on yardstick, in colour, double sided. It helps change outlook on certain character traits and helps people see themselves differently. It is also effective in drawing out strengths and gifts individuals have. A great team building activity or self-esteem booster for youth groups.
